As per provision of National Policy of Education, 1986 the DIET Darrang, Dalgaon was established in June, 1994 and officially started to work w.e.f. 20th August, 1994. Since its inception, this DIET has been serving for the upliftment of educational scenario in Elementary Section under Darrang district. It has been playing an important role in implementation of different programmes of DPEP and SSA till date. In spite of having work infrastructure facilities and poor staff pattern, this DIET has been conducting long term and short term training programmes, academic support to the schools, research and studies, extension support to SSA, SCERT, Text book and other learning materials development etc. at present. After having a good infrastructure along with staff and proper guidance, this DIET will certainly work more vigorously for the betterment of the teacher and students of both elementary and secondary level.
